Since you probably have a little time off of work this week, take this opportunity to make yourself a kick ass breakfast. Pumpkin sounds like the perfect fall/Thanksgiving item, so here's two ideas for you: pumpkin pancakes and pumpkin bread french toast. I haven't made the french toast before, but if it tastes anywhere remotely close to as good as that picture looks, then it's worth a try. I have made the pumpkin pancakes and they are DELICIOUS.
Let me just reiterate that I'm not recommending you eat either of these on a regular basis. Everyone should be eating a low sugar diet, and while things like honey and maple syrup are a natural sugar, it's still sugar. Ideally we should be in the 50-100g of sugar range each day (more on this in a later blog post), and there are about 22g of sugar in just the maple syrup in the pancake recipe. Moral of the story: this is a treat. But it's Thanksgiving, so sounds like as good of a reason as any :)
