RULE #8: WIPE DOWN YOUR EQUIPMENT AND PUT IT AWAY WHEN EVERYONE IS FINISHED
Dude: your mom doesn't work here. And even if she did, we're all grownups so hopefully your mom is cleaning up after you anyways. Whether it's something you use for the warm-up or the workout, it's your job to put it up if you used it - even for a second.
The other part of the sentence is, "when everyone else is finished." Let's say you're still finishing your workout and everyone else is done. Now they all start putting their stuff away and acting like they're ready to leave. Would you feel particularly motivated at that point? Or maybe a little defeated? Would you feel like everyone is encouraging you and cheering you on? Or like they're hoping that you finally finish so that class will be over because they have to be somewhere else? Even though surely no one in the class is trying to send any of the negative messages, in the middle of an already mentally challenging workout, someone might feel that way. Wait until the last person is finished to put away your gear. What to do while you're waiting? See rule #7.
Petty Officer 1st Class Jeff Taylor died in an attmept to rescue a 4 man SEAL reconnaissance team that was under attack from roughly 150 enemy fighters. Jeff was among the 16 sailors and soldiers who lost their lives when the MH-47 Chinook helicopter they were riding in was hit by a rocket propelled grenade and crashed on June 28, 2005. We remember and honor Jeff Taylor and his sacrifice through his dedicated Workout of the Day, “JT”.
